Frequently Asked Questions

How do I get a prescription refill?

  • Call our office at (843) 958-2500 and leave a message for your doctor. We make every attempt to call in your prescription the same day, but due to the doctors schedule, it may take longer than 24 hours. It is our policy not to refill prescriptions for narcotic medications during evening, weekend or holiday hours due to limitations in accessing your medical records when the office is closed.

On the day of my appointment, will I have to leave to get x-rays?

  • For your convenience, we offer x-ray services at each of our locations. Our certified, professional radiology technologists are skilled at taking high-quality x-rays.

How do I get a copy of my medical records?

  • Due to patient privacy laws, all requests for records must be made in writing. You may find a copy of the Medical Release form on this website. Upon completion of the form, drop it by one of our office locations or fax it to our medical records department at (843) 958-2681. To speak to someone in our medical records department, please call (843) 958-2520. A small fee maybe charged to prepare your medical records for release unless they are sent directly to another healthcare professional to aid in the continuation of your healthcare.

Will I have to pay for parking?

  • Parking is free for patients at all Roper St. Francis Healthcare facilities including our three office locations.

What do I need to bring with me to my appointment?

  • In addition to bringing your insurance cards, photo ID and referral information, you should also bring copies of any previous x-rays, MRI's or other imaging studies that you have had. If you have been seen by an Orthopaedic doctor for your condition in the past, please make arrangements to have the records sent to our office before your appointment. Please bring a list of current medications with you to your appointment, including the dosage. If you are a new patient, you may download copies of the new patient paperwork from this website and bring them with you as well. This will help minimize your wait time on the day of your visit.
